Jim Haughey

Treasurer

Jim Haughey is the Federation Chairman and has been a Director since 1982. He served on the old Fisheries Conservancy Board for a number of years and is presently a member of the DCAL Salmon and Inland Fisheries Advisory Forum and Loughs Agency Advisory Forum. Jim was a partner in a Building Services Consulting Engineering business for 20 years before retirement. He is Chairman of the North Atlantic Salmon Fund (NI) which he set up with Newell McCreight in the early 1990s, and was an integral part of the first DCAL salmon net buyout in 2001. He enjoys both salmon and trout fishing and sees the maintenance of good habitat as one of the cornerstones of fisheries conservation.

Gary Houston

Gary Houston

Chairman & Development Officer

I will be supporting all angling clubs and their officers with; advice, information, and guidance. I will also help to identify and deliver training and programmes to make their angling club even stronger to enable accessible and sustainable participation opportunities through their clubs.

As you see from the photos I enjoy sea, coarse and game fishing, I have represented Ireland on the rivers team and have worked with the Ulster Angling Federation, local clubs and River Trusts to improve angling and water quality.
